This class builds on the fundamentals learned in Basics of Pistol Shooting. In this class, the student is taught the proper mindset of defending themselves inside and outside the home by avoiding the threat whenever possible. The student is taught the proper technique for safely and effectively drawing a pistol from a holster. At the range, we engage multiple targets, learn emergency reloads, and perform immediate action drills to clear stalls and jams. Class is $180.00  PRICE INCLUDES RANGE FEES. (NOTE: If you are a member of 17 South Rod and Gun Club, your range fees are included in your dues, so use the tickets for 17 South Members) Questions, call us. 

What is needed for the class:

• Service caliber pistol. (.380, 9mm, 45 ACP, or 38 special) Please call if you have questions about other calibers.
• Sturdy belt (gun belt is preferable) but at the very least it needs to have a buckle and sturdy enough to hold the gun and holster. Soft cloth or ribbon belts are not acceptable. 
• Holster Please call if you do not have a holster yet. We will help you find a holster that is appropriate. NO INDEX FINGER RELEASES ALLOWED. This is SAFETY issue. No cloth or cardboard holsters. No hosters with a snap over the top. You need a sturdy leather or Kydex holster that is made for the make and model if your gun. Again, pleasse call us, we can help. 
• Magazine carrier for two magazines.
• At least two magazines. You need enough magazines to hold 12 rounds at a time. (So, if your magazines hold 8 rounds, you need two. If your magaines only hold 6 rounds, you need three. IF your magaiznes hold 15 rounds, you still need two magazines because we will do emergency reloads.)
• ***PLEASE NOTE: We are NOT a gun store and there is no gun store at the range where we shoot. We do not have any of the above items for rent or for sale so you need to purchase these items before the class. Please call 912-257-5310 if you have any questions.
